Cash Nexus - Mislabelled. (USA, Car In Car Disco Product). Cash's second release for Car In Car. Even more song oriented than the Huschle release mentioned above. Sometimes with a full band other times with tapes and other backing. Apparently the name that took the 'r' out of country. £1.00.
Richard Faulhaber - Conversions. (USA, KBr). At a suitable volume this isn't really the ambient noise that I picked up on last time I played it through. Sound sculptors working close to the ideas of Omit but with a heavier emphasis on layering rather than oscillation and echoes. The only name that I can liken this to that immediately comes to mind is Daniel Menche. A collection of six compositions recorded in the studio over the past four years. Very nice full colour insert. £2.00.
Harpin' w/Corey - Slow Children at Play.
(USA, Swoon). £1.00.
You ever heard a harmonica
blown through a couple of feed backing walkie talkies. Here's your chance! This
actually works pretty well. Slow Children at Play is even more of a minimal,
lo-fi noise thing, with plenty of screech and fuzzy samples thrown in. Again
most of this stuff comes via harmonica and walkie talkies. In the backyard with
a primitive Otomo Yoshihide.
