Here are some of the
thing's to look out for when buying one (Mostly common sense really):
- Headlights lose their reflective properties
after a wile. If they look dull or yellow expect to pay £60 for each light to replace
them.
-
- Check all the lights and electrical things
work. That includes the graphic display module, electric mirrors, electric windows (if
applicable) and warning lights
- .
- Check that the tyres are all okay
-
- Look in the boot and spare wheel well.
Water leaks in through the rear lights and collects in the well. Make sure it's not too
rusty.
-
- Look around the tailgate, under the rubber
that the tailgate closes on, they often go rusty in those places.
-
- Fell around all the wheel arches to make
sure they are still intact under the cladding.
-
- Look in the water coolant reservoir, look
for oil floating on the top. This could mean that the head gasket is going.
-
- Look in the oil filler cap. Check for white
scum around the top. Again this could mean dodgy head gasket.
-
- When you start it look for excessive blue
smoke from the exhaust.
