My friend: I know a place

Glastonbury Tor

My friend: I know a place

A pair of swans float,
As nearby the beach,
Glistens in the low winter sun,
The roads are icy and the mountains white,
I choose laziness and sit in the car,
And enjoy the music

But it isn't here,
It isn't today I want to show you,

There is a way,
That bridge of the spirit with the colours of the soul,
If you can come we'll take the music,
You know the music,

Will you come and see?
The moonlight on the glacier
The lights like candles on the Aguille du midi,

Will you come and see?
The purples and greens shine on waves of happy humanity
We will listen as the lyrics come our way,
'There's only one way of life and that's, and that's, your own.
your own, your own'
We'll drink a small glass of Somerset cider in the midsummer night.

Will you come and see the places that might have been Camelot?
Will you listen to the sounds from the Tor?
See the home of the Celtic King
Look at Arthur's round fortress,
It just might be real

Will you come and see?
The young boys cycle across the meadows,
Oblivious to the changes the 60's bring,
They go past the buttercups,
Watch them stop on the bridge,
See them point at the fish,

Will you come and see my mother hold,
My new born twin sisters?
If we go there,
You'll know this day
A nineteenth day
A day of May

To that spot that shelters under space and time,
Merci pour le pont aux couleurs d'arc-en-ciel .
