Inspirational Sayings

I love these and I have some WONDERFUL friends on the internet (special thanks must go to Nancy) who supply me with a steady stream of them! In fact I was getting so many that I was getting confused (all that know me know thats not hard!) so I thought I'd share them with you! Enjoy....

somebody did a golden deed;
somebody proved a friend in need;
Somebody sang a beautiful song;
Somebody smiled the whole day long;
Was that "somebody" you?

I LOVE YOU ENOUGH - Jim McGregor, published here with kind permission! thank you Jim

I LOVE YOU ENOUGH TO...
Allow you to find the God of your understanding-however, whenever, and if ever you choose.
Allow you to make what I perceive to be foolish mistakes.
Never possess you and never let you possess me.
Allow you to maintain your dignity and never let you take away mine.
Allow you to seek help in your own way, where-ever and when ever you chose.
Leave your resonsibilities in your hands and to assume my own.

I LOVE YOU ENOUGH TO..
Allow you to hurt when you choose.
Never apologize or cover up for you.
Be your best friend or never see you again.
Miss you but not be destroyed when we are out of touch.
Drop all my expectations of you.
Become so serene and at peace that I don't 'need' you.
Let go of jealousy and anger.

I LOVE YOU ENOUGH TO...
Allow you to have your secret space and to have my own.
Listen to you with an open heart when I can.
Never tolerate your unacceptable behavior - forgive your unacceptable behavior when and if I'm ready.
Allow you to grow faster or slower than I do without resentment.
Allow you to take magnificant care of yourself your spirit and those things that are yours.
Allow you to become the beautiful person that you are.

I LOVE YOU ENOUGH TO LET YOU GO

A Pillow to Cry On

All my life I have considered myself fat
Mounds of flesh caked here and there
I didn't understand why I was softer
Than all the other girls
Until I had my children--
Then I knew.

First I was a vessel
Softness giving safe passage
Through the amniotic sea.

Then I was a chalice
Roundness pouring life
Into the mouths of hungry babes.

Now I am a pillow
The cushion for your falls
I bear the pummels of your frustration
The weight of your dreams.

I am soft.

Here is a 5700 year-old hymn from the Rig Veda.
Read it carefully and consider its antiquity.
It represents the oldest recorded words of man
on this planet we call earth.

=============================================
The Cosmology Hymn in the Rigveda
Rigveda (10:129)

At first was neither Being nor Nonbeing.
There was not air nor yet sky beyond.
What was wrapping? Where? In whose protection?
Was Water there, unfathomable deep?

There was no death then, nor yet deathlessness;
of night or day there was not any sign.
The One breathed without breath by its own impulse.
Other than that was nothing at all.

Darkness was there, all wrapped around by darkness,
and all was Water indiscriminate, Then
that which was hidden by Void, that One, emerging,
stirring, through power of Ardor, came to be.

In the beginning Love arose,
which was primal germ cell of mind.
The Seers, searching in their hearts with wisdom,
discovered the connection of Being in Nonbeing.

A crosswise line cut Being from Nonbeing.
What was described above it, what below?
Bearers of seed there were and mighty forces,
thrust from below and forward move above.

Who really knows? Who can presume to tell it?
Whence was it born? Whence issued this creation?
Even the Gods came after its emergence.
Then who can tell from whence it came to be?

That out of which creation has arisen,
whether it held it firm or it did not,
He who surveys it in the highest heaven,
He surely knows - or maybe He does not!

My Baby Boy and Me
It's three A.M., they're all asleep,
And no one's here to see.
As we rock slowly back and forth,
My baby boy and me.

His little hand is feather-light
Tucked up against my chin.
I hold his tiny hand in mine
And stroke his baby skin.

The house about us creaks and groans,
The clock hands creeps around.
He snuggles closer to me still
And makes his baby sounds.

I love these quiet hours so much
And cherish every one.
Store memories up inside my heart
For lonely nights to come.

All too soon he'll be grown up,
His need for Mama gone.
But until then I still have time
For kisses and for song.

Time for quiet hours like this
With him cuddled in my arms,
Where I wish he'd always stay
Protected, safe and warm.

And yet I know the day will come
When this tiny little hand
Will be much bigger than my own.
He'll grow to be a man.

But until then he's mine to love
With no one here to see
As we rock slowly back and forth,
My baby boy and me.
