VPCCL League Match vs Norfolk & Chance, 5th June 2006, Victoria Park

London Fields (108/1 off 11ish) beat Norfolk and Chance (107/6 off 16 overs) by 6 wickets

A second straight win overshadowed by an injury to Jakob who broke his shoulder diving in the field. Get well soon Jakob!

Fielding first, we got a good start with Chris taking a difficult catch from Will's bowling. Will and Steve (also getting a wicket) kept things tight, containing an attempted onslaught from Norfolk and Chance's most dangerous batsman (who was finally C&B by an in form Robin).

Fresh after grabbing a 'Michelle' yesterday, Ty-phoon helped stop a late attack with 3 wickets. After Jakob's injury, a passing scoundrel was roped in as a substitute fielder, but even being dressed in workclothes and sensible shoes couldn't stop Rob from taking a fine catch at mid off.

Chasing 108 to win, Chris and Dave aimed to finish things as quickly as possible; Chris by getting a first ball duck and Dave by scoring 50 in just 5 overs(!). Will (30) anchored the innings with Steve (12) before Shaun, who also kept well earlier, hit the winning runs with 5 over to spare.

With 2 games to come before the league splits, we seem well set to finish up in the middle league for the 2nd half of the season..
