..... life after the launch

Summary-

Year 2003

My labour of love did not conclude with Whimbrel's successful launching in April'03. A number of teething problems kept me busy during the first season. I decided to take her down to Cornwall for the summer for the Falmouth Classics in August which in hindsight was rather ambitious given my lack of experience in handling such a powerful rig.

May'03- September- Falmouth and back  -maiden voyage too far?

October - March'04 - to sell or not to sell?

                           -completion of cabin interior

Year 2004

April - haul out, antifoul, touch up topsides, strengthen bow section, rebuild gearbox (completely knackered)

May- July- week end & day trips only -meanwhile preparations afoot for new rig. One final photo session under gaff rig – see pics in photo session

July -August- out with the gaff rig and in with the bermudan rig!

September onwards- excellent day trips with new rig -exciting new boat. See photo section for sexy new bermudan rig!

 Year 2005

April- fit replacement high efficiency Variprop- excellent !

May- time to say farewell to Fox’s Marina and all my friends for the one way trip to Falmouth –her new long stay home.
