PLEASE TRANSFER TO OUR MAIN SITE The Ashley Jolly Sad Trust (SADS UK) is a voluntary organisation that exists to raise awareness about little known heart conditions in young people and provides information and support to families who have experienced the sudden unexpected death of a loved one due to such a condition. The Trust fundraises to purchase and donate heart monitoring equipment to detect potentially fatal heart conditions in order that once a condition is identified the patient can be referred to a cardiologist for treatment, to minimise the risk of sudden premature death.
Anne Jolly, the Chairperson for the Ashley Jolly SAD Trust (SADS UK) set the Trust up after her fit and healthy 16 year old son Ashley died unexpectedly in his sleep. She is trained in bereavement counselling and is now working to attain an Advanced Diploma in Person-centred Counselling. The Trust believes support is a very important aspect of the SADS organisations.
The Ashley Jolly Sudden Adult Death Trust (SADS UK) is a charitable organisation and was registered with the Charities Commission on the 7th March 2000. The Trust has SADS members throughout the UK who are dedicated and committed to raising awareness about Sudden Adult Death Syndrome and the importance of heart monitoring.
SADS UK (The Ashley Jolly SAD Trust) works together with SADS America, Canada, Australia and Europe and is networked with them. The SADS organisations believe pooling resources both nationally and internationally will result in helping to diminish the tragedy of SADS.
A lot of information is available on the SADS UK website, which links to the countries mentioned above. Through these sites we offer help to other bereaved families and practical information for those at risk. SADS UK was granted International Affiliate status to The Sads Foundation, Salt Lake City, Utah in December 2000. If you wish to become a member of the Ashley Jolly Sad Trust (SADS UK) or would like further information, please contact Anne Jolly info@sadsuk.org
