Fighting for Gordon

Prospective Scottish Parliamentary Candidate, Alex Johnstone explains why the Gordon Conservatives will put up the fight of their lives between now and the 6th of May.

The time has come for Gordon to wake up to the dangers that lie ahead in our new, devolved Scottish parliament.  In Gordon we face two threats.

The Liberal Democrats, it seems, will stop at nothing to get their feet under the top table of power in Edinburgh and London.

Lib Dem Lap Dogs

While their leadership forge ever closer links with the discredited Labour Government, the MP for Gordon, rocked by the scale of the Lib-Dem defeat in the North East Scotland European by-election, is now desperately trying to build links with the Scottish National Party.

Having suffered the embarrassing defection of one senior Aberdeenshire councillor and with many more unwilling to seek re-election, they are split in two, both locally and nationally. They are ready to sell out to the highest bidder in order to secure even the smallest share of power.

SNP - Intoxicated and Isolated

The Scottish Nationalists on the other hand, intoxicated by their recent success, believe they can use the Scottish Parliamentary election to rip Scotland out of the Union at the first attempt.

They would leave us isolated from our main market and dependent on heavy European subsidy to maintain even the most basic services.

Gordon would find itself pushed into the front line as our economy was decimated to provide what funding it could for a struggling independent Scotland.

We must remember that who ever takes control of that parliament it will be dominated by the ‘wants’ and ‘desires’ of central Scotland’s socialist majority.

Uncompromising Tories,

The North East of Scotland cannot afford to be represented at Holyrood by MSP’s with one, or both hands tied.

In Gordon, we need a strong voice, willing to defend our culture and traditions, our rural economy and the prosperity generated by our world beating offshore oil and gas industry.

Only the Conservatives are willing to make a stand, without compromise, for all that we hold dear. Only the Conservatives are,

‘fighting for Gordon’.
