Meet the Bengal:
|
|
The Bengal was first produced by mating a domestic cat with the wild Asian Leopard Cat. The resulting spectacularly spotted cat instantly won the affection of cat owners who wanted to 'have a leopard' of their own. The resultant Bengals have a unique combination a beautiful spotted pelt, wild looking walk and movement, but loving nature. Our aim is to try to breed Bengals that look as much like the Asian leopard cat seen here with the long lithe body, small head and ears, and of course the beautiful spotted pelt. |

This is Lilli our Sepia Snow Bengal queen. She is a lovely friendly girl with a wild looking face - nice small head and ears, and a terrifically soft pelt. We are concentrating on producing snow kittens although our breeding programme is always likely to give us brown spotted kittens as well. |

Purdie is our F1 hybrid queen -
her father is an Asian Leopard Cat and her mother is a Bengal. One of the
best ways to improve the type and conformation of Bengals is to introduce new
Asian Leopard Cat genes into the programme. This we are now doing with the
help of two beautiful F1 girls recently imported from Germany. As part of our
long term breeding programme, these new types are invaluable and we have high
hopes for the future. Purdie has now generously given us two beautiful girls - Snow Hunter
and Sand Dancer, who are absolutely gorgeous. 'Hunni' is a blue eyed snow
with stunning markings and pelt texture. 'Sandi' is a brown-spotted kitten,
but her background colour is so pale that her brown and apricot spots stand
out superbly. These kittens are so affectionate we are amazed - we often find
them curled up on Jamie's lap fast asleep as he sits watching TV. We are so
overwhelmed by these babies that we have decided to keep both girls as new
foundation stock. Watch this space for photo's soon. |

F2 and F3 kittens are available
very occasionally. These extremely rare and beautiful cats have the Asian
Leopard Cat either as the Grand Father or Great Grand Father, and are not
eligible for showing in the United Kingdom (although they can be displayed in
exhibition pens). But, if you want a spectacular 'leopard on your lap', these
kittens are beyond compare. Because of the rarity of these babies we have to
operate a waiting list - please contact us for details. These kittens are only available to carefully selected owners. |

Hawk - our Stud Boy is big, soft
and beautiful. He has now proven himself to be gentle but firm with his lady
friends and is producing lovely spotted kittens with the same soft luscious
pelt that he has. His favourite pastimes include lying on his tree catching
the sun, eating, and calling to his girl friends to see when they want to
visit him next. Although he has his own harem he is occasionally open to
invitation from very special ladies who might want his services. Stop Press 16/03/00- Hawk has now been re-homed and is settling in well. |
