"This Christmas I am having Jim's family over from Amsterdam - and I am cooking! We will have to see what happens. It could be a disaster. Looking back over the year I enjoyed the tour a lot and it was a huge learning period for me. I have learnt so much about myself and other people, and the meaning of the word "respect". I think I hae become a lot calmer too - less scary! When we were in Arizona we played a couple of gigs in the desert. At the end of our closing number, Mel C and I usually fall on the floor but we looked down and saw a sea of crickets! Another night there were weird flying things zooming around. You'd be singing and a huge buzzing insect would hit you on the head. Yuk! A big, sticky moth flew into Victoria's hair. She ran off stage and got one of the crew to pick it out. I was really pleased when I heard Missy Elliott wanted to record with me - a Spice Girl! I am such a big fan so I was flattered to work with her. It was great to present the MOBOs as well. Afterwards I got lost! I was off to the party but couldn't walk there by myself as there were so many people hanging around outside. Jim was off looking for his mate, so I ended up sitting in a police car surrounded by photographers. It looked like I'd been nicked for something - very funny. This year I went on a world tour, got married, moved house and had at least two No.1 Spice singles and a No.1 solo single, so I think I deserve a bit of a rest. Bet I don't get much of one...watch this space." MEL B |
