    5. Outline the use made of the Internet in various environments.

    1. Explain in detail the ways in which a family, for example Elaine and her family, could use e-mail, the Web and File Transfer Protocol in their personal lives. Explain why it is becoming popular for families to be online at home.

    2. Explain in detail the ways in which the Internet is used at work, for example on the CD-ROM Jim uses e-mail, the Web and File Transfer Protocol to help him professionally in his job. How does it help him in his work? What other jobs might be carried out more effectively by making use of the Internet?

    3. Explain in detail the ways in which the Internet might be used commercially, for example Mary uses e-mail, the Web and File Transfer Protocol to make her company more successful. Why are more and more companies creating Web sites?
