The UCS work-in was organised by meetings of the workers. The meetings in which strategy was decided were open to the entire work-force, including the cleaners, and everyone had a voice in the decision-making process. The meetings were also open to the media. The central part of this panel shows various workers debating the issues. How has the portrayal of women changed as the mural has progressed through 200 years? Why do you think the faces of the workers in this panel are clearly visible?
