Junior Teams: Equal Opportunity Policy
We (Tooting and Mitcham United Juniors FC) are committed to offering equal opportunities to all within and without our structure.
As such, we look to our constitution to guide us in ensuring that:
Our club should be open to all regardless of skin colour, racial background, religious affiliation, sexual orientation, gender (whilst adhering to F.A. guidelines), and economic circumstances, whilst not ignoring our rules inherent in our constitution and code of conducts.
As such we will endeavour to reach out to all communities within our area and where possible encourage participation amongst groups under represented in our ranks.
In so doing, we will endeavour to ensure our committee and volunteer leaders are representative of our locality, are open to all peoples and will actively recruit leaders to display a welcoming face to all groups.
We will make sure that we understand and try to alleviate any barrier to any person seeking to participate in our activities, due to religious, racial, sexual orientation, gender or economic circumstances.
We will endeavour to ensure all disciplinary matters are re-assessed to ensure no prejudice of any kind was used as a background to reaching a decision; as such we will seek guidance from minority groups if this is an issue raised.
We will ensure every minority group within our structure feels able to bring up any issue they feel is hindering their progress (especially if this includes bias against their background or circumstance), to any committee member and so we will ensure all leaders receive the latest equal opportunity and anti-racist training.
We will pursue any grievance made by one of our members, against another club or individual, who has offended our policy of equal opportunity and ensure it is treated with the degree of severity it deserves.
We will reach out to anti-racism groups such as "Show Racism the Red Card" and "Let's Kick Racism out of Football" to ensure we understand all issues involved in equal opportunities.
We will attempt to support and help any organisation wishing to further participation amongst minority groups within sport and football in particular.
