Code Of Conduct
It is the duty of the team manager to control the match environment. Therefore all players/parents must be aware of their responsibilities and acknowledge the authority of the team manager in these matters.
All managers/coaches/players/parents/supporters must read the constitution and abide by it.
All managers/coaches/players/coaches/parents/supporters must adhere to the spirit of fair play including:-
Accepting all referees
decisions.
Being respectful to the opposition, not deliberately fouling and
not being abusive to the opposition and their supporters.
Not cheating or playing against
the spirit of the laws of the game.
All managers/coaches/players/parents/supporters must appreciate winning is not everything, and a spirit of playing the game for it's own sake, and self/team improvement is much more important.
Parents/supporters should desist from coaching. A manager/coach will attempt to make their players think for themselves, and cope in any circumstances. It is a relationship based on trust and good practice. Should there be a need to alter or correct the performance of a player, the only voice the player should hear, is the manager/coach. Any other advice can be distracting and confusing and can lead to a breakdown in team play.
Therefore, although we know all parents/supporters mean well and their intentions are good, they should restrict themselves to shouts such as "well done" "unlucky", "come on Tooting/Mitcham" etc or a cheer or a round of applause!
