The Terrors are through to their second successive play off
final with a 2-0 win over Worthing at a sodden Imperial Fields.
In a dream start, keeper Banks came too far out of his goal
after five minutes, trying to field a ball he had no chance of reaching. Jason
Pinnock hooked the ball across goal, Jon Henry-Hayden got in a header, and
Paul Vines tapped in past the recovering keeper.
Paul Vines then scored the second after 11 minutes with
a towering header from a deep Allan McLeod cross. Banks kept his side in the
game with a fine save from a McLeod free kick.
Worthing had a good 20 minute spell after the break but
Brotherton squandered their best chance when he hit the top of the bar from a
great position. Their hopes were then ended when Alexander was sent off 17
minutes from the end.
Paul Vines was named 'On Ice' Man of the Match.
