"Gabisa" consists of Stuart, myself and our baby daughter Chloe who was born on 12th June 2004.

Stuart and I chose the affix "Gabisa" because we felt that Rhodesian Ridgebacks are indeed, proud of themselves! Our dogs are happy to strut their stuff and are unbelievable show offs.
We have both been involved with dogs from a very early age and have owned a number of different breeds over the years including Dobermans, German Shepherds and Staffordshire Bull Terriers.
We became interested in Ridgebacks in 1996 but we waited 2 years for the right dog and Kudo was certainly worth the wait when we collected him from Kwekwe in August 1998. We instantly became addicted to this breed and couldn't wait for our next one. Milo then came along 18 months later in 2000 and 6 months after that (October 2000) we also took on Inja (3½ years old) from friends when they couldn't cope with the combination of his high-spirited nature and a new born baby. Sharon Rossiter of the Sonstraal Kennel was kind enough in 2001 to offer a partnership with Milo's sister from a repeat mating and Sonstraal Miss Marple of Gabisa is a very promising young bitch who we love and have high hopes for. We then added a new addition to our RR family - Inja's son, Bruno was born on the 17th August 2002 and is certainly the "nutter" of our family.
Our Ridgies were watched over by the Guardian of our family, Murphy ! A 14½ year old Staffordshire Bull Terrier who had a personality and temperament to die for ... unfortunately cancer claimed Murphy in late January 2004. A testament to his zest for life he was given 6 weeks to live in December 2002 ! Sadly missed by all at Gabisa.
Both Stuart and I are committee members of the Rhodesian Ridgeback Club of Scotland. I am Hon Secretary and keep the Club website updated. We are always available to help both members and non-members interested in learning more about this wonderful breed and if we can't help, then we will certainly know someone else who can !!

I am on the B List of
the Rhodesian Ridgeback Club of Scotland, the Southern Rhodesian Ridgeback
Association, the Midlands and Northern Rhodesian Ridgeback Club and the
Rhodesian Ridgeback Club of Great Britain and have completed and
passed the Kennel Club Rules & Regulations Examination and the Hands On
Assessment, have attended both a
Conformation & Movement seminar and Breed Specific seminars in line with the
Rhodesian Ridgeback Breed Council judging criteria.
